Probably will revert to its former appearance next time, since I made the 'Revival' theme default.

If not, go to your Profile > Forum profile and change to 'Revival'. Or any other theme installed.

The safety landing onto the new server is the utmost importance, which seems to be successful.  (Posting comments and images to the threads seems to be of no problem.)  The appearance would be one of the least issues of the move, so I would never urge the administrators to address it.  ;)

I noticed that the link to the unread posts for each subscriber is replaced with the link for each category?

The move is finalised, forum (with some caveats regarding Gallery) is working, DNS is pointed to the new domain.

I call it a day and hit the sack.

Well done Birna and the team

The server location is nominally in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I say 'nominal' because it is part of a high-access (HA) cluster with triple units. They guarantee 99.99% uptime.

The hardware provided is much better than before, which clearly helps a lot for better performance. However as disk space is expensive (NVMe SSD units) with our solution, we have to avoid using NG as a mass storage for one's pictures. That is against our previous guidelines as well and will have to be enforced in the future. We might need to put a quota on the space used by non-subscribers, to name one example of future policy.

It is not fair that 100+ subscribers cover the expenses to allow thousands of visitors per day to enjoy the site.

Thanks for the encouraging words, guys -- much appreciated :)

Due to the caching everywhere on the 'net, it is to be expected that there is an occasional hiccup whilst the server(s) search their caches for the latest version of NG. I recommend delete any NG cookie and site data through your browser, and log in again if you encountered these issues. As the days fly by, the issues if any should fade away.

+1 from me here in Australia.

Thank you to all involved in making this transition to the new server successfully happen.  A large and no doubt at times a fraught undertaking.

Yes, great job, Birna and team.

The site loads very quickly and fast. A huge improvement.

Things now works fast, so many thanks for the job done.
Only thing is that the DNS'es still point to the old site, så tablets don't work at the moment, but I guess that will solve itself given time.
