Akira, Your lovely Plum Blossoms are very inviting to this winter weary denizen of Connecticut. They don't appear here until April. Tokyo is at 35 degrees north and we are at 41-  yet such a differences as to when flowers bloom.

Japanese plums blossom here on February 5th +/- a couple of days. They are remarkably consistent! Cherry trees seem to vary more and don’t show until April.

Photos of flowers must be the most boring thing for others to look at, but are a wonderful experience to the photographer.

I think I am mistaken about Plum Blossoms, they are similar to other types of flowering trees in my yard. It's like birdwatching, you see a Savannah Sparrow and you try to turn it into the much less common Vesper Sparrow until evidence is brought to your attention that tells you otherwise. Still, nothing is blossoming here in my yard, not even Snow Drops!

Also thanks for commenting about my little friend peering through the fence. It amused me too, but also made me feel a bit sorry to see him so situated on a cold winter day.

Tom, I'm glad you enjoy the plum image.  The time plum flowers (white or pink) bloom is so varying according to the amount of the sunlight the trees are getting, even in my small area in Tokyo.  The cherry blossoms are more in synch with each other in much larger area.

And, yes, your little friend looks a little lonely...

February 19.  The rose color completely disappeared a couple of minutes after it had been shot.
