By the way, I told you something wrong about the Zeiss biotar : It has actually a preset aperture ring ! Both aperture ring and preset ring are so thin and so close each others that I thought they were the same ring... ::)

Contrary to the Nikkors, its aperture ring is on the front lens and the focus ring at the rear lens. (see below).

Yes, Francis. The same system also applies for the Zeiss Triotar 135/4   The Nikkor 28/4 PC has the same set up, with aperture and pre-aperture-selection at the front of the lens, by the way.

Fortunately he was behind a fence in the zoo, but the enclosure looked more like the shrublands I spend a lot ofmy free hours in :)
