It worries me a bit that they have dropped out of the display business and now also the router and time machine business.
The Cinema displays and TimeCapsule were invented in a time without very little competition, now others have better solutions at lower prices so Apple lost its differentiator to justify their premium products for premium prices strategy. I remember the first time I saw the 30" Cinema display more than a decade ago, I was simply stunned that one could edit images at full resolution with leftover space for the menus. Now every vendor has these big screens for a lot less money.
TimeCapsule was invented in an era when Internet providers only provided a modem and one had to by their own wifi router, now the wifi routers with builtin modem comes standard with an Internet subscription. Also a TimeMachine compatible NAS is now a much better and resilient storage solution for a little more money.
For the same reasons other companies like IBM and Sony decided to sell their entire laptop devisions, Samsung who pushed these brands out of the business will undergo the same faith soon as well. In a few years we'll only have Apple MacOS and Lenovo Windows laptops.
