Eric, Thank you for the kind comments .....yes Frankfurt was enjoyable, I felt right at home there. It is unfortunate you never made the trip!

Frank, Thank you for taking the time to comment on so many of the images, your thoughts are very enlightening. I do look forward to meeting up again, in the real world.

Elsa, I am listening ....yes the pole, no excuse I should of spotted it, but I like the body language. Stride, funny I ran into position and waited until the other gent merged into my main subject, for me that is the shot (for what it is worth).
Thank you for looking back in on the thread, I do appreciate it.

Sorry I have been so slow to reply I've been very busy.

I have a few more to post to finish the set ....apart from maybe #LoveCity I realise these images are just "snapshots" but I like snapshots. Although I do have to remember how to resize D800 images for the web, these all look dreadful here!

Cheers

You surely know how to do this stuff, Bez.

I can - maybe - shoot the occasional street scene, although at a lower level of competence. However, due to the severe restrictions laid upon the use of such photos in my country, it is a waste of time in my case. Still fortunate enough to enjoy these images here on NG.

Hello Bjørn,
Thank you for the kind words  ....they are of limited use in England also, but I have strolled the streets with my camera since I was 13 for my own pleasure. These images are holiday snapshots, I would hope to return to Frankfurt with the knowledge gained for more considered images.

I have been fortunate to find your posted images, as they have had a big influence on my photographic journey.

Cheers

You just keep adding more and more good stuff. Most of the bikes are ... meh ... when compared to the other very very nice shots. I really like your processing. What equipment and you using and the processing program?

Gary,
I am so pleased you came back to this thread  .....I have been following your "Old Stuff" with great interest it is very inspirational work.
Yes the bicycles are a bit lame, thank you for the honest critique it is helpful to me.

The resizing on these looks bad  ......my processing workflow is Adobe Camera Raw, adjust exposure (black white points) then check noise in NIK define, open TIFF in NIK Silver Efex 2, I don't use any presets .....globally boost contrast, then dodge and burn with control points (control points are the reason I use NIK plug ins)
The camera for these was a D800 and 16-35mm, but like you I also use a X-pro1 (18mm/35mm) alongside a X100 for street stuff.

Defnitely like the last posted images.

Elsa,
Thank you for commenting it is helpful getting experienced eyes looking over the images. I have a few twilight images to finish the set off, so hopefully you will come back and take a look at them.

Cheers

Good images can become even better by including small "imperfections". We need a feeling of being alive rather than being perfect. Life itself is far from perfect.

So true, so important...! I guess that's why I joined :-)

Hello Jacques,

Thank you for the comment  ...the bicycles are not my favourite, but they do make me smile :-)

Looking forward to more of your images in the real "city of love" (Paris)
