Hans, most of the images comes out of the camera more or less like I show them.
On the Blue Orb series I added a little clarity, intensified the black a little and that was it. Not even sharpening. Then again, the room was pitch black when I took the photos and focusing, even at f1,2 was tricky enough. I took about 50 photos to get these 3.
On the doors I shot a few testers, then set exposure manually, shofted the lens down a bit and hoped for the best.
When I got home the surrounding wall had a bit more detail then I had hoped for so I burned the surrounding wall a bit and cloned out a pillar. I also cloned some of the dark areas in the lower left and right to the top of the image to isolate the doors.
Looking at the image I had in front of me I did not like it so I went back to one of the original test exposures, straightened the image. Then I added a bit to the highlights, some clarity and contrast and exported the JPG.
