Sicily in May

My wife and I have just spent two weeks there, driving around the island. Lovely people, great food and wine and interesting towns and villages. Great location for a NikonGear meetup!

I intend to post a few too. Hopefully with a different focus....

I am back, after a near disaster...
Shortly after returning from the holidays I did something stupid (in fact, a series of reckless actions - what was I thinking?!) and made unreadable the disk where I had the last 8 months of images.
No backups available, thanks to my stupidity.
Fast forward, I invested in a data recovery software, which did its job (it took a while).
After the cleanup, I am now back in business and able to post a few more (to be continued in the next few days)

4. I don't know what gave this plant this odd colour, but I like it.
5. Reached the ridge, west viwe to Monte Incudine (Incudine = Anvil)

8. San Vito from the top of Monte Monaco
9. Zoom into the beach
10. Looking back toward the higher summit on the ridge that terminates with Monte Monaco

You dodged  bullet over your storage disk, I know the feeling, as I'm sure some others here do as well.

Thank you for posting the series, it has been worthwhile viewing for me.
I also have memories of having accidentally wiped out large amounts of data...some fairly recently.  Backups and Sandisk Rescue Pro have been helpful.

Thank you all for your comments, I am happy to fulfill the request for more - we are getting near the end though.
In addition to my "land" camera, I also brought my "water" camera (AW1) and my "air" camera (known among the affectionate as TIM).
I am sad to report that the AW1 had its last gig. In its outing after major maintenance by Nikon UK (including "pressure testing"), it suffered a major flood by sea water that bricked it.
The image below, a cuttlefish, is among the very last it took:

TIM however has had a rather good, if somewhat nervous time.
Our peninsula is just out of controlled airzones for two airports, Palermo and Trapani.
The latter has lots of military flights and even in the "green" zone where I was there were at times Navy helicopters that were flying fairly low.
Better stick to the rather restrictive Italian limits for drone flying... max 70m above the controller, 200m distance.
Hopefully as European legislation comes into force, Italy should relax these limits to values similar to the ones used in the UK (although soon the UK will care much about European legislation soon... or maybe not?).
Anyway, here are some aereal images from my Mavic 2 Pro, aka TIM.

6. Afternoon visit to the broad bay at the foot of Monte Cofano - this is looking NE toward San Vito lo Capo

There are clouds and some of them later enveloped the tip of the mountain, but the sailboat was not in the fog.
Since you asked nicely feel free to use it as a background; glad you liked it.
