Sicily in May
« on: May 30, 2019, 08:58:31 »
I am introducing my daughter to the  marvels of Sicily :)
Too bad it will be only for a week - and nealy half of it is already gone.
Here  are some images from yesterday. There will be updates, but they will be irregular.
All images  are unedited jpegs due to  not having proper editing equipment, therefore colours  may be a bit off.

1-4 Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro
5 Do not enter

PS It looks like for some reason my tablet does not have auto-rotate on. Apologies for that.

Lovely photos of one of my favourite islands.

I will be in the Aeolian Islands and then Siracusa at the end of June.

A lovely place! My favorite is no 5. I love the composition and the contrast between the walls, blue sky, clouds. The glass is a nice bonus.

Here are a few more pictures:

That picture of the cylindrical tile water duct is very interesting ! I didn't know it was still used in Sicily ? :o

Good work - I like a lot of these and they really make Sicily enticing.

Thank you all for the comments.
These old style drains are more maintenance but also more picturesque. They are used throughout  the town centre.
I have quite a few more pictures I'd like to show and I will once at home.
The holiday is sadly drawing to an end and we are packing for an early morning departure tomorrow.
Stay tuned...

You have some really nice takes on Sicily there, Simone.

My wife and I have just spent two weeks there, driving around the island. Lovely people, great food and wine and interesting towns and villages. Great location for a NikonGear meetup!

I intend to post a few too. Hopefully with a different focus....
