I am introducing my daughter to the marvels of Sicily :)
Too bad it will be only for a week - and nealy half of it is already gone.
Here are some images from yesterday. There will be updates, but they will be irregular.
All images are unedited jpegs due to not having proper editing equipment, therefore colours may be a bit off.
1-4 Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro
5 Do not enter
PS It looks like for some reason my tablet does not have auto-rotate on. Apologies for that.

the fourth picture did not turn out well
literally
90 degrees.
lovely shots!

Yes that's what I meant in my PS.
Thanks for liking the images, I'll post more later.

A few more from this morning.
Opposite side of town from yesterday.
-
Simone - what a beautiful place and great series of pictures! I look forward to irregular updates... :)
What film simulation do you use?
-

Thanks Lars, I think my default is Provia

Lovely photos of one of my favourite islands.
I will be in the Aeolian Islands and then Siracusa at the end of June.
-
A lovely place! My favorite is no 5. I love the composition and the contrast between the walls, blue sky, clouds. The glass is a nice bonus.

Thank you Anthony and Peter.
I am in San Vito lo Capo in the NW of the island.
Here are a few more pictures:
1,2 San Vito, view from the west yesterday afternoon
3 Coast SW of San Vito this morning
4 - 7 Views from our windows
Again for some weird reason autorotate is off...

That picture of the cylindrical tile water duct is very interesting ! I didn't know it was still used in Sicily ? :o

That picture of the cylindrical tile water duct is very interesting !
Agreed.
I also like the chair, flowers and their shadowy doppelgangers Simone
-
Good work - I like a lot of these and they really make Sicily enticing.

Thank you all for the comments.
These old style drains are more maintenance but also more picturesque. They are used throughout the town centre.
I have quite a few more pictures I'd like to show and I will once at home.
The holiday is sadly drawing to an end and we are packing for an early morning departure tomorrow.
Stay tuned...

You have some really nice takes on Sicily there, Simone.
My wife and I have just spent two weeks there, driving around the island. Lovely people, great food and wine and interesting towns and villages. Great location for a NikonGear meetup!
I intend to post a few too. Hopefully with a different focus....

Thanks Mike.
I look forward to your take.
Our holiday was very different, totally stationary.
Both my young daughter and wife are sedentary souls.

I am back, after a near disaster...
Shortly after returning from the holidays I did something stupid (in fact, a series of reckless actions - what was I thinking?!) and made unreadable the disk where I had the last 8 months of images.
No backups available, thanks to my stupidity.
Fast forward, I invested in a data recovery software, which did its job (it took a while).
After the cleanup, I am now back in business and able to post a few more (to be continued in the next few days)
1. Early morning sailboat
2. Trail up to Monte Monaco - east side
3. Further up the path
4. I don't know what gave this plant this odd colour, but I like it.
5. Reached the ridge, west viwe to Monte Incudine (Incudine = Anvil)
6. A wider view from nearly the same place.
7. More awesome views and odd-coloured plants
8. San Vito from the top of Monte Monaco
9. Zoom into the beach
10. Looking back toward the higher summit on the ridge that terminates with Monte Monaco

You dodged bullet over your storage disk, I know the feeling, as I'm sure some others here do as well.
What a really nice series of images these are, thanks for posting!

Your investment turned out to be very well worthwhile! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you both, I am glad you like them.
And yes, I do feel I dodged a bullet. I was lucky this time.
-
Thank you for posting the series, it has been worthwhile viewing for me.
I also have memories of having accidentally wiped out large amounts of data...some fairly recently. Backups and Sandisk Rescue Pro have been helpful.
-
These latest additions are, for me, the best so far. The early-morning image of the distant yacht was on its own worth going to Sicily for.
-
Simone, a very nice set of images from a phantastic place, keep the coming
-
Stunning images, Simone!
My appetite to visit Sicily has grown immensely thanks to your images!
-
Keith, David, Thomas and Jakov,
Thank you all for your comments, I am happy to fulfill the request for more - we are getting near the end though.
In addition to my "land" camera, I also brought my "water" camera (AW1) and my "air" camera (known among the affectionate as TIM).
I am sad to report that the AW1 had its last gig. In its outing after major maintenance by Nikon UK (including "pressure testing"), it suffered a major flood by sea water that bricked it.
The image below, a cuttlefish, is among the very last it took:

some of the landscapes almost look Scotish, no wonder you like them ,🙂😃
-
the sailboat in the fog is hillarious, if you agree, I would like it to be my new background on my smartphone (Android 9 now)
-
TIM however has had a rather good, if somewhat nervous time.
Our peninsula is just out of controlled airzones for two airports, Palermo and Trapani.
The latter has lots of military flights and even in the "green" zone where I was there were at times Navy helicopters that were flying fairly low.
Better stick to the rather restrictive Italian limits for drone flying... max 70m above the controller, 200m distance.
Hopefully as European legislation comes into force, Italy should relax these limits to values similar to the ones used in the UK (although soon the UK will care much about European legislation soon... or maybe not?).
Anyway, here are some aereal images from my Mavic 2 Pro, aka TIM.
1. The lighthouse and San Vito from the NW end of the bay
2. The headland is quite flat and low
3-5. Morning views east from the ridge seen in #1
6. Afternoon visit to the broad bay at the foot of Monte Cofano - this is looking NE toward San Vito lo Capo
-

There are clouds and some of them later enveloped the tip of the mountain, but the sailboat was not in the fog.
Since you asked nicely feel free to use it as a background; glad you liked it.
-
A couple more from the lighthouse series.
1. Yours truly is driving the drone from the top of a WWII machine gun nest
2. Another view of the lighthouse
-
Love this series Simone. No.1 has to be the ultimate selfie!
Sorry to hear of your bricked AW1 - I would be bricking Nikon UK about now - like the camelers of old allegedly did to their camels! ;D
-
The best series yet. All excellent if (dare I say it) a tiny bit repetitious. And TIM (making the sign of the cross as I mention it) is doing the business.
I have good memories of M. Cofano in dramatic sunset light; at Christmas 1986.

You are right it's Monte Cofano, not Incudine!
Oh the shame of being corrected by a Scot on Italian geography!
You are also right on the repetition, I could have been more selective in my posting.
On the other hand I haven't been doing much photography during that week, I was mostly busy with the family.
