No excuses needed: dark skies and even darker, ominous appearance. Works very well.

Paco is right.  The eagle is nicely silhouetted in front of the backlight from the cloud.  A huge natural photo studio!

I have been inspired by the american painter Edward Hopper regarding shadows and the light. The photograph shown is one of many taken in an effort to create some hundred images based on my inspiration from his paintings. To me this is a continuing process in my daily living environment. Maybe a book in the future...? Nikon Df, AF-I Nikkor 300mm 2.8, aperture 16, Nikon polarizer and a tripod.
