In general it is distracting, plus most lenses make an ugly forefront.
It all depends on the wanted outcome and usually with some trial and error.
Having this knowledge still unsharp forefront happen to me as well. Some captures just feel right this way through the viewfinder. Not necessarily for the later spectator though.

#35, #38, #39 are nice. Each in it's different way.

One of the oldest Squares (or Triangles) is Korvel, where buildings from the Roman period and gravehills around 1.700 BC were found.

It was late in the afternoon and the sun is bound to set in the West

John, that's a Lovely afternoon take of a nice sunny winter day. I like the perspective of a 20mm.

Thanks Thomas.   Yes, I like the 20mm as well.  Last year I had at a time all 20mm Nikkor versions, and sold them. I got a 'new' 20/4 and a 20 UD and I will settle with these ;)

The 20/4 is compact and great for landscape and the wider street shots, where the UD is better with architecture and has an unusual smooth rendering for a 20mm.

In normally mild to hot Houston it is 2C and raining lightly.  Below 0C with the chill factor.  I don't feel like going outside.  There was no electricity in my house from 6PM on New Year's Eve until power was restored just before dark on Tuesday after paying an electrician $1,200 to replace part of the service the utility said was my responsibility.   Delay was due to the holiday weekend, the utility requiring a building permit be filed and city offices being closed.  Luckily the weather was mild during the outage.

You managed to let this appear scarier than it must have seemed to the bare eye!

Thanks, Frank!  It was indeed a clear and pleasant day here in Tokyo.  And the place was open with no interruptions of the electric wires.
