Fresh ice on the new years' first day.

Very interssting color spots, I guess these are stones under the ice?

That is more like a painting than a photo, Fons

Today sunny. I take the D600 with the 105E for a walk!

Very typical new-years -action, Jacques.  Nicely captured.

Morning dawn, before the forecasted rain will come...

That is an unusual rendering, John.

Some bubbles in the middle, some cat eyes nearer to the frame border thatblook more loke 105E cat eyes. Some unsharp needles embedded into sharp ones, near monochrome.

A rainy feel... confusing.

Thanks Frank. Yes it is an unusual rendering perhaps.

Shot with the Df with the 105mm /2.5 from 1969. Actually I was only interested in the AI-ring, and got it cheap as it has some minor micro scratches.

But I like the sharpness wide open, and the rendering so it will stay on the Df for a while  ;)

I thought long and hard about having unsharp elements in front of any shot and I feel it does not work most of the time. Yet, depending on the subject, it is sometimes difficult in the final result to determine which elements are in front which are in the back. I generally love no blur up front and if there is blur up front I love it as smooth as it can get, like in Ron Scubadiver's super shot of the pink bride on the zebra crossing in Vietnam...
