Winter is imminent here as well. Weather forecast says plenty of snow tomorrow, temperatures are already below the freezing point, and the Virginia Creepers have shed all foliage, only their bright red stalks remain for a short time.

I'm actually sitting on my sofa and just shooting straight through the living room window ... Low sun elevation as is customary this time of the year, but at least we still have some hours of sun light every day.

Subdued color is nice but of course sometimes nature just gets garish!  Even with the white balance a little on the blue side that tree smacks you upside the head.

Simato 73: Your semi-abstract hillside in Scotland is very fine.

Despite the cold and the approaching frost, the Firethorn develops fresh autumn flowers...

In highly civilized areas, the autumn colors tend to be more purple.

Nice one, Matthew. Though civilization is questionable in this aspect.
