Autumn is very slow to show itself here this year, so I will cheat a little and go back in time by 12 months.

A traditional thanksgiving fest in our region last sunday is my interpretation of autumn colors - a colorful event.

Nice tradition Daniël, so what is in the green bags (assume their handbags)?

Arend, these are rice bags.

Nice colours and waterdrops on your leave.

With the warm weather the last couple of days, I've been chasing bugs with various old lenses on extension tubes.  Sometimes the bugs get away but the leaves remain, and those old lenses have a way with old leaves too....

The yellow leaves were with a 200/4 Q on long extension.  A hornet was supposed to be there, but left in a hurry.

The red ones with a 135/2.8Q on a bit less extension.  The fly flew. That's a Virginia creeper, I think.

e.t.a for the equipment geeks, the camera is a D3200 as usual.

Mike, the first image looks so pretty!  It evokes my nostalgia to my hometown, too.

Daniel, thanks for sharing an interesting introduction to your tradition.

Arend, a nice find and execution!

Matthew, these are engaging closeups!

I am deeply touched by the abundance of combinations of red, orange and yellow colors.

It has been pretty warm, or even a bit hot in Tokyo until yesterday.  Today I finally feel some autumn atmosphere...

Amazing shots here.

Very subtle, Akira.

Sometimes it's not the colour of the leafs which is amazing, but also the form how the leafs are affected by the Fall. I am not sure which tree this is.

Thank you Akira, Jakov and Erik.

No fill flash was used.  Had to climb partly in the tree to get the frame (with the 105mm). The leafs on the left (and right) (outside the frame) give a kind of soft reflection which made a more equal exposure possible.
