Who won?

It was not as ... violent and nor was it as widely and ruthlessly horrific as other war zones. I corrected the ID of the image, those were Sandinistas not Contras. This was the battle to remove Somoza from power and not the latter battle to remove the Sandinistas from power. I felt relatively safe as there were CIA (spooks) in nearly every bar and every corner.

Yes, In 'Nam. (He seemed to hang out in southern Vietnam/Saigon, with the US Army and I sorta hung out in the north with the US Marines. And the Middle East, (Beirut IIRC). He was one of a handful of photojournalists we lesser photogs called "Shooters". As in, "Hey, there goes Larry Burrows." Which would be answered with "Yeah ... he's a Shooter."  McCullin is a Shooter.
