That 35/1.4 is very well suited for bw portraits, Frank.  Nice one's.

March 6th  Lots of cold rain, even snow expected.

Positively surprised with the Nikkor C  135/2.8  Q auto, a lens which can be purchased for nearly nothing....  Beautiful colours and wide open full of contrast and crisp images. And a very smooth and pleasant bokeh.  Unbelievable sharp stopped down.

On the Df with the 4T  (@ f/5.6)   a detail of the mini ficus.

The 2.8/135 series is very good. The result you show here is amazing. Looks like it has been stacked.

Thanks Frank.

I have the 135/2.8 E-series but I am and not so enthusiast about that lens. Rather normal.

Apparently the Q-version (around 1973) was a different class, and design. And expensive in that time too I believe. The only disadvantage is the Non-Ai, so I can only use it on the Df.

Another example, now without close-up attachment lens and wide open.

A chestnut bud...

John. I had the Ai version. Used it for portaits outdoors in film days. Great separation and Bokeh.
