More portraits from my Ai-S 35mm/f=1.4 all @1.4

Nice set Frank. That was my favorite lens on my F2 and F3.

Nice set Frank. That was my favorite lens on my F2 and F3.

crazy that the lens is still built and sold till today.

mine is 2006 vintage.

what troubles me with her is that she sometimes irritates the light metering system very much

AND

that the results are great if I nail the focus but that it is very difficult to do so

last thing has more to do with the camera that does not allow green dot focussing outside a very resricted zone
of AF points. That is why I want to try the D500 with the 1.4/24mm as a 35mm solution too. She has focus points all
over the place and the 1.4/24 has some very interesting intentionally non corrected faults at 1.4.

A better focus-screen can help or the screen enlarger  DK-17M. I had one on the D700 in combination with the 35/1.4.  On the Df focus is relatively easy.

The green dot can work if you first take the centre of the lens, at the right distance, focus-till the green dot appears, and then reframe to the desired composition. This method I used when it was pretty dark.

I feel that reframing after green dotting offs the focus easily at 1.4

An iPhone image of my Oak Leaf lettuce. It is growing "wild" having been seeded from a previous planting. This stuff is buttery and simply melts in one's mouth. It is growing everywhere.
