Ahh, Sentimental Journey, that plane lives about 10 minutes from my house. I get to hear the harmonic phenomenon of those 4 engines often as it flies over my head. Wonderful sound that takes me back to my childhood, which some claim has re-arrived in my case.

David, and others on this site have inspired me to do some shooting after over a 2 year absence from my D200. The only thing I shot during that time was a few grabs with my iPhone, and that absence from my DSLR showed in my results. But, as they say here in Arizona, "you gotta get back in the saddle anyway".

Here's a less often seen part of that B-17 that David posted, the left side waist gun. D200 @ ISO 400 with Nikon 12-24 @ f/9.

Went to an airshow yesterday near Copenhagen.
The D500 was on hard work 1000+ pictures
This is one of them, a very fast and agile sports plane.
Have the problem that my shutter speed was high so the propeller was standing still om many of the pictures

This is the oldest airworthy plane in South Africa

It is a 1935 Aeronca with a 40hp Jap engine.

The first owner flew it from England to South Africa in 1936. The journey took him about 6 months.

Not often one sees a plane being hand-started nowadays.
