USB-C should be able to daisy-chain devices right?
USB Type-C is just the connector. I believe both USB and Thunderbolt is able to daisy chain.

That reminds me: Watch out for bad USB Type-C cables! Someone on Reddit made a spreadsheet that gives a nice overview: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus6P/comments/3robzo/google_spreadsheet_for_usbc_cables_with_benson/

This is based on Benson Leung's Amazon reviews. Benson Leung is part of the Google Pixel team: https://plus.google.com/+BensonLeung/posts/LH4PPgVrKVN

All his reviews can be seen here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A25GROL6KJV3QG/ref=cm_cr_rdp_pdp

From what I understand, you can connect the new MacBook Pro's to one of the new LG 5k monitors and it'll drive the display and it will charge your laptop at the same time. The display works as a hub too.

Thanks Jørgen. From what I hear the LG panels are state of the art,,, have not even seen one yet - If they really are that good they are very reasonable priced,,,

I only watched the first 10 minutes and clearly he found some kind of bug. The bug could also be in the adapter, who knows? If it's a problem with the MacBook, I'm sure Apple will fix it.

That is correct, those are btw also discounted for the time being to help with the USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 transition  ;D

The 5K version with built in 85W charger:

And a 4K version with a built in 60W charger:
http://www.apple.com/shop/product/HKMY2LL/A/lg-ultrafine-4k-display?fnode=8a

The 13" MBP comes with a 60W charger and the 15" with a 87W charger in the box, the 4K screen will charge the 15" MBP's but might not have enough power to keep it topped off while in use.
Cheers,

Apparently, USB Type-C cannot be daisy chained in the original sense of the word, where a single connecting cable runs between devices down the chain.
Multiple devices can be connected through the use of added hubs.  More to buy, more spaghetti...
Thunderbolt was limited to 6 downstream devices on the Macbook Pro laptops;  I don't know if this a Thunderbolt(Intel) limit or an Apple limit.

I am also wondering if it isnt the adapter - since there has been some ramblings about adapters not working properly with the MBP's
I assume going for the Apple adapter (which is on special) is the only way to go

Okey so apparently even the Apple adapters are not that great -

Maybe USB-C isn't a mature technology yet? I read through some of the user reviews and they were horrible entertainment to say the least.

I have an impression of the connector in general falling victim of cost cut, especially the newer small ones like micro USB, micro HDMI, etc.  They are too flimsy in the first place.  Even the SD card slot of my MacBook Air I used last year was not very good and sometimes failed to recognize the inserted card.

USB-C connector should be of no exception.
