Andy - I cant even bear to look at those - loosing a pet is heart breaking - nothing less.

Very true. Last sunday we lost Mikkel. He was hit by a car, luckily he died momentary. And I am glad we found him. He was only 4 and a half years, a very happy and joyful cat. Heart breaking it is.
I post his photo again.

What a sad news, Bjørn. Wish you all the strenght. Five years ago I lost one of my cats due to a car-accident, it's a very hard way of saying goodbye.

It appears that several of us lost a cat that way. Here is our very clever Ice Blue Isak, a blue point Siamese cat that lived a strong and free life as a stud. He was the father of some 20 litters. Finally he died in what looked like a car accident. Unfortunately i have few (if any) good pics of him, as he hated cameras and turned quickly away. Isak also inspired some "poems"   :) :

SIAMESE PRINCESS

(or Isak´s spring theme)

I want a hairy little Siamese princess
With a couple of sisters who can raise a few blisters
A fragile little Siamese Princess
With feet playing drums, who talks when she comes
I don´t want no bore
She must master a kitten or four

I want a darling little Siamese Princess
With long phony nails and a hairdo that rinses
A vicious little Siamese Princess
With her mouth full of mice, who hisses ´n´ lies
Don´t want no smudge
She must have earned a cert from a judge

I want a funky little Siamese Princess
An angel; a devil; with  mind like a rebel
With titanic head who would sleep in my bed
She can even be poor
As long as she knows how to open a door
All up inside
I just want a princess of pride

I want a classy little Siamese Princess
With charming  blue eyes wearing elegant thighs
A brazen little Siamese Princess
With two over-sized ears who can rut without fears
I don´t want a snail
She must carry a whip of a tail

For ten years or three nights
Won´t someone send me a  princess who bites?
.
.
Yes, won´t someone send me a  princess who bites?

(After Frank Zappa´s Jewish Princess.  A special thank
to Connie who learned us about the princess)

Beer jumped the electric fence last night, apparently he learned his lesson as he was patiently waiting on the wrong side of the fence for me to take the power off and open the gate.

Before doing so I just had to take an image of the rascal being too cute in a yellow field of flowers ;D ;D

A recent addition to my mobile household.  Scruffy was found trying to survive in the parking lot of a motor home repair station.  Workers would toss her the occasional leftover sandwich bits.

The resident cat is less than thrilled with the new tenant  >:(.

Bjørn, so sad to hear of your loss of Mikkel.  Likewise others who have lost their animals. I still miss my cat who died of kidney failure, aged 15years.  They become part of you it seems.

Here, some pictures between the ISO 1200-3600 range; just what you need to take in house pictures without artificial light and with sufficient DOF and speed to fix our English Bulldog who is faster than you think; in any case moving enough to give a photographer a tough time  ;)

Nikon D5 Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 @ f/5 1/250
Most of the light is Northern light coming from the garden; last picture receives also some tungsten light; taken with WB on Auto1.

Nice examples of an English Bulldog.  This one looks particularly happy.

Thanks Mike.  It was hard to  resist her.  Once I showed her a little attention and food she followed me all over.

I'm not sure if it happens so much in other civilized countries, but here in the US there are 1000's (or more) abandoned pets each year.  I have never gone looking for a pet, they just seem to wander up and stay.

Bill Oliver
