Seems strange since they have the same optics.

Early multicoated 35/2 lenses seem prone to separation. I have a Nikkor-O.C with separation around the edges between two middle elements, it shows as a silvery ring around the edge. Your picture shows a silvery reflection in the same place, might be a small amount of separation. I once had two K 35/2 (by chance with consecutive serial numbers), one with a bright colored reflection in the same place across the whole element, and another with semicircular reflection on one half. These extra glass-air surfaces can cause reflections that result in flare. Might explain the difference in flare?
Yes, that might be an explanation. It was a very heavy used lens by an US press-agency.  The serial number of the flared one was 9412xx  The one I have now is 9028xx.

A true mix'n'match collection there. A camera for any occasion or lens mount (almost).

Couple of iPhone snaps of this Leica challenger / beater.

Still have the lens but the adapter doesn't fit my a7S anymore, might have to do some tinkering to use it again.

Cheers,

So the new Sony mounts are stronger - less flex - but also tighter, (potentially) causing issues with adapters.

I have both the 2/45 and 2.8/90 Contax G lenses on my A7 and like them a lot.

LoL. I get to keep the junk like this rubbish I received and only took it out to take a picture and put it back in the box where it belongs.......

..........Why do they keep sending me junk?

P.S. The mobile junk phone is in my possession for the only reason that it takes two SIM cards and I have only 5 mobile numbers......for the moment.....this amounts to 3 mobile phones for the arithmetic challenged folks 8)

May I "rebalance" the thread a bit towards the longer end of the focal range in the amazing Nikkor portfolio Nikon built over the last 60 years?
(The EFCS feature of the D5 is such a nice feature to make life easier with these old gems)
