Thanks Thomas. It's a combination of reflection and illumination.  The whole building is designed as a ship, both external and interior. When entering these stairs it gives the feeling of 'landing' on the main deck on the way to check-out gates  ;)

I have a few more from Antwerp in the Sint-Anna Tunnel for pedestrians and bikers under the river Schelde (572m long).
The moving staircases were special when it opened in 1933.

Great find!
Are the wooden excalators still in use?
I thought they have been taken out of duty in most places due to fire risks.
