@ Thomas G, yes the wooden escalators are still in use!
Nice! They are as historic as paternoster elevators.

Chris - terrific shots “Metro in Budapest”. I like both of them.

This is the oldest image I´ve ever share here. After this trip, I decided to buy a serious camera. It was a nikon d200 at that time. This particular stairs with guy at the top was taken in Varanasi, India, in 2007 with a point and shoot Sony W5. I think I was very lucky!
Great image Paco. Varanasi in an wonderful place for street photography; one of the best in country actually, IMHO!! If you have more photos of Varanasi, would love to see those. I've been there twice when I was a kid.
While you were in Varanasi, I was in Miami with my P&S Canon S80. 1.5 years later I bought my first SLR D200.  :D

Yep, I can see that´s the effect cool stairs had on P&S cameras...they become d200s :)

I will try to dig out some of those Varanasi pics

Mr.Chip Chipowski: like the second image, even more the first one and really like them both together.

Do you mean that you made the stairs? Gorgeous.

Yes, thank you, my own design very eco conscious, the side pieces were the off cuts from the risers, laser cut, or water jet I can't remember. I have a pic of the fabrication I think...  This is one of them I made a few.

Also my daughter who is now 22!  Taken by a friend who was passing.

It's a matter of perspective. ;)

Nice stairs. The photo: feels like looking down :-) Good work, the geometric details well done and framed.

Tom, you must have a really big house and you must be in shape. I wouldn't want to forget something upstairs :)
Akira, I remember that lovely image all too well!
