From Iceland, 2012. Very few trees in Iceland, so the colours are mostly from small shrubs and ground cover. The colours are intense, though.

Simone - I really like #1 and #2. In #1, the forest really does look like it is on fire! The highlights are well under control.

Amazing fireworks of color. I'm always fascinated by how similar those Northern landscapes look to our Alpine ones, at roughly 2300-2600m elevation.

Thank you. Indeed, although I shot it in manual I was probably about 1.5 stops below what matrix metering suggested. I usually don't bother trying to expose to the right in shots like this when I know I won't lift the shadows and keep a lot of black areas in the frame.

Simone: their physiognomy and structure are identical. The tree line drops towards the higher latitudes and sooner or later it reaches the sea level. Then the tundra takes over in shaping the landscape.

Simone: I love the more impressionistic style, esp. the rainfall!
