So, what cameras are you using nowadays?

I've had the D800 for more than 3 years and have also built a Fuji system in parallel.
Both systems are built around 5 primes each, covering the FF equivalent of 20mm to 85mm.
In day to day shooting I've used the Fuji system more. The D800 will be traded with a new D750 tomorrow.
I'm really looking forward to this move as I expect better AF performance and suitability for event photography.

If I had to buy a camera body tomorrow, it would be the D750 for sure.
Had it entered the market before the Df it would probably be the camera I would use

I use D700, D300 and V2 (2). The V2 cameras are very handy for hiking and urban use as nobody pays attention to them.

I think for me too!  I have a love - hate relationship with the Df, mostly love. I have never found the external controls easy to operate, I always take the camera down, push the little lock buttons, and move the knobs. I love the images and love the size/weight of the camera and I love the sensor... so overall amazing!!  I haven't handled a D750 yet.

If you've handled other Nikon DSLRs,  you've basically handled a D750.  I was surprised to find the tilt screen so useful when I assumed I'd never used it.

The D750 and I had an instantaneous disagreement. My hands could not handle the narrow grip well.  It is very different from the bigger D3/D4-class models in terms of handling. I just deleted the model from my short list and never looked back.

The monocoque design started with D5500 significantly changed the body design which made the grip much narrower and deeper, compared to the previous models.  Some like the new grip and some don't.

The D750 is a very good camera but it falls in the 'almost' camera for me just like the D7100 and its' buffer.  It probably doesn't matter to most people but why in the heck have 1/4000 vs 1/8000 but when I am shooting 1/4000 at iso 400! Why in the heck can I not have more speed.  Sure, I would like the 51pts cover more area but I can live with that.  The 39 vs 51 is my only real complaint about the Df.  It is all about Nikons business strategy .
The Sony a7II is fun with adapted lenses, great MF aids and rarely get an unsharp image but the D750 is a better all rounder for what, and how, I shoot  .

Yeah, I *really* wish the D750 grip wasn't so narrow.  The D750 feels like it was made for small, slender hands . . . not mine.  If only I could mix some of Canon's ergonomics (and rotary wheel) into a Nikon body.  A man can dream.

The grip of the D750 is far better than the grip on the Df.

   Yes it is not a D3/D4 class. The battery grip however makes a big difference, to a greater extent that the d700 with or without grip. It is good to have alternatives. I´m of course talking from the point that this particular camera model hits a sweet spot for my main kind of shooting so take it acordanly.

My primary camera is a Nikon D800. I use the AF-ON button for auto focus and the camera is always in AF-C focus mode. I use the AE-L/AF-L button for FV Lock (Flash Value for run and gun) and the Function Button for selecting non-CPU, manual focus lenses and for exposure lock. I've kept almost all of the lenses I bought from 1978 to date. I sold all those I bought from 1970 to 1976 as most were single coated. A camera like the D750 as good as it is lacks a dedicated AF-ON button so it's one button short and not the camera for me. I use shutter speeds above 1/4,000 and I'm spoiled by cameras with a 1/8,000. I still have my D300s and use it occasionally. The interface is almost the same as the D800 but the D800 is a bit better. I'd like a D4s image sensor and electronics in a D810 sized body, say a D810H.

I have a glut of 35mm film cameras. I wouldn't mind shooting a little ISO 400 B&W from time to time but my darkroom no longer has a sewer line. I'd also like to shoot a little 4x5 B&W. I can't see a day where I'll ever shoot color film again.

Anyway most of the time I'm using a D800.
