Tom, a sight all too familiar to Australian eyes.  Sadly.  Stay safe.
Thanks Hugh. Some rain would certainly be welcome in the Canadian fire zone, which is 500 miles from where I live. That distance amazes me.

What can I say?  Yesterday was a pretty boring day.

Up the street...down the street.

This time of the year, the school are presenting the creations on stage.

Day length is increasing towards Summer's Solstice and shooting IR hand-held at 23:05 in the night is no problem. The sun set a few minutes prior to this capture.  We are far too south to get midnight sun, but the dark night hours shrink rapidly now.

Nikon Z5 full-spectrum, Zoom-Nikkor 28-45mm f/4.5, B+W 093 IR filter. This veteran zoom lens from the late '70s, Nikon's first production model of a wide-angle zoom lens, is excellent for IR by the way.

Thank you Fons, much appreciated.

Birna, 23:05?! I do like a lot how that combo works for IR

Yes, 23:05. At sun set. I went outside on Ruth's porch to look at the setting sun and had the Z5 with me, so tried a few shots for fun. Do note the street lamps hadn't yet switched on.

The old 28-45 is not sharper than its successor, the 25-50/4, but quite superior for IR. Never seen any real hot spot with the 28-45.
