Another old favorite I have no recent good shots from (last year I had a nasty computer crash - didn't lose originals, but lots of stuff I'd processed, and I'm too lazy to redo a lot of it -  but I took this lens to Antarctica back in 2014.  This shot was done on a D3200, and if I dug up the original I could probably make a better JPG than this, but it will have to do for now.  This ancient lens I got for nearly nothing but never liked it much on film.  Reading some of Birna's old accounts, I decided to give it another go on DX, where it found its feet.

The lens is a 2.8cm/3.5H dating to about 1961.  Unknown aperture, as the D3200 counts all manual lenses as 0 focal length and 0 aperture.

I used a Canon 35mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift lens extensively in the film era. The lens was expertly converted to F-mount by a former friend. Not tried for a while now, through, as it is impossible to CPU-modify. Perhaps I should as it certainly has that "rounded, vintage" look. Its colour rendition was on the cold side compared to my Nikkors, I recall. This would be a breeze to correct in the digital era.

Nikon F5, Canon 35mm f/2.8 TS probably around f/11.

Industar-50 from the mid 50s wide open.  The camera was SIGMA fp.

I am sorry to hear about the disk failure. I was less lucky and I lost everything from two years, 2012 and 2013 including pictures from my first trip to the US. There were beautiful shots from Watkins Glen waterfalls.

And of course, your landscape taken with 2.8cmm is a beautiful vintage looking one. The sun star makes the composition very expressive.

Akira, I love the peaceful atmosphere of the picture so much. This is the time of the day when I love to walk around. Reminds me the towns in Europe I visited in the past.

Another old-timer which I miss these days is the UW-Nikkor 15mm f/2.8N. An amazing optic on any Nikonos camera.

Glad you like these images, Zang.  I like the mild rendition (both in terms of sharpness and color) of not-too-fast lenses with fewer single-coated elements from the 50s and the 60s.  As you say, they tend to give some peaceful atmosphere.
