I run Win10 on my old PC.
Maybe the install program was able to detect my Win version and selected the latest version that works on Win10?
The installation file is from 16/10-2025 and has 010901 in the filename.

Yes, same version as I am running on Win10.

I upgraded yesterday and it installed 010901 on Win11. I had to explicitly look for 1.10.0 and install it again to get it.

I've bumped in exports of cropped pictures not showing the crop although it shows them as cropped in the app. Close and restart solved the issue with new crops.

For anyone looking for older versions of Nikon NX Studio...

Softpedia has NX Studio versions 1.5.0 to 1.9.1 on their Softpedia Secure Server (US). I used their search feature with, e.g. NX Studio 1.7 to locate the download pages. They offer both Windows EXE and MAC DMG installers.

Just installed 1.10.0 on my Win11Pro box. NX Studio still is next to useless for files stored on network drives; in fact, it is so slow as to redefine the concept of 'glacially slow'. Browsing remote directories is an exercise in futility.

I have stored a copy of 1.7.x in my remote program storage, so will uninstall 1.10 and try 1.7; the latter works passably fine under Win10.

I managed to get NX Studio 1.7.0 installed on my Win11Pro box, after removing the bad 1.10 version.

NXS 1.7 does not require NikonID login and runs a tad faster. Still very slow browsing on networked drives, but once the software decides there are acceptable NEFs to be found, it treats them much faster than the 1.10. Zooming in and out is quick, changing exposure and other adjustsments occur without too worrisome delays. For files on the local machine, 1.7 operates pretty fast.

I consider the slowness and troublesome behavior of 1.9/1.10 to be the classic symptom of two companies co-operating in a bad manner. Both Nikon and Microsoft are to blame for the unusefulness of NX Studio 1.10.

Due to the hint in the thread I installed 1.10 and have no trouble runnig it fast and reliable. The glitches that earlier Nikon Sofware was known for I do not experience. Maybe my super fast box is the reason for that?

NX Studio is very fast on my *local machine*, but unusable on networked storage.

That has been the issue with Nikon products for years.

Isn't that normal behavior for NX Studio?

I'm not saying that is great just that I think that's normal.
