Thanks for the comment John and Akira. I did push up saturation some, however it matches the visual perception of the type of light that can appear during these winter months. It is actually vertical 3-frame stitch.

Thank you for the technical details.  I wonder how the gradation could be stitched?!

  As requested:
Cuco (カッコウ/Kakkō) is my cousin. When we were teenagers he took some photography lessons in school and was one of my early contacts with the subject. We were roommates at the time of the drawing and lend me his posca paint marker... that also contributed to secure him a spot in the umbrella  :) He did post some images here in NG https://nikongear.net/revival/index.php?topic=8921.msg147696#msg147696 post #122

Thank you for the direction and decoding "カッコウ".  :)   It is obvious that you and Cuco don't only share two letters in your names but also the DNA for capturing the "moment"!

My pleasure Akira San. I'll pass along your comment to Cuco. He has been doing photography longer than me  ;)

I was very lazy and just dropped the D500 raw files on to ICE. The bottom frame even had a significantly different automatic white balance than the other two frames - ICE handled it surprisingly well. The top frame only had a tree top for high contrast reference. Exposure was the same in all 3 frames. The lens was 55 f/3.5 micro, so pretty much non-existing vignetting and distortion at f/8.
