A neighbour showed me the content of her traps with unwanted "pets" .... Gray silverfish Ctenolepisma longicaudatum has spread rapidly in our modern, warm and well-isolated housings. Although in principle harmless to humans, it constitutes a big nuisance for libraries and museums, or any dwelling with lots of fabrics or paper.  The Silverfish simply dotes on paper.

Just googled it.  An amazingly vigorous species...

Wrap your books, and other paper related material in plastic and put them into the freezer.
These creatures hide behind paintings also!

Our local Southern California micro climate (≈3.5 km inland from the ocean) is too dry to support these primitive insects in most parts of the house, except in area of the bathroom. Since they don't carry disease and their population seems to remain small and stable, I don't worry about having to kill them, and consider them co-habitants. No evidence yet that they eat Epson inkjet prints!

The silverfish are very common in Australia and New Zealand and are a dammed nuisance - especially with respect to books and fabrics - as already noted below.

"Yet" is the appropriate word...once they've had their fill of non-resin coated paper look out!

Not very cold weather, yet sufficient for another light dusting of snow. The bus stop schedule is hard to read :)

December 3

Lets play silly buggers

Yes, trying to talk to shop assistants when you're both wearing masks can truly be a dialogue of the deaf
(even more so when they're behind a perspex screen!)

He was actually a decent fellow taking everything the easy way having a chat and all that while serving, so a bit of a pun intended, Colin cheers.

Better night performed than one would think, as I also experienced. However, I doubt it is an AI-S lens. Mine is manual "bis zum geht nicht mehr".

Yes.
I just followed the nomenclature on Roland's Website where the Serial-number 198831 is part of the Ai-s*. Of course, with no aperture connection, it is fully manual  :)

On a complementary note: the image was taken from the car, so the front-screen is an extra kind of filter...
