December 2020
« on: December 01, 2020, 08:15:35 »
Post your "blog" contributions here  No theme (other than what the passage of time creates), no contest implied, a maximum of one picture per day in the actual month and no more than 4 images per month for NG members, up to 31 for Supporters. You can distribute the contributions as once per week if you so prefer. Enjoy!

This is the final month of the year so let us make it special, perhaps in a better way than the year 2020 itself :)

Good evening!  This is another version in addition to the one posted to the "best moon images" thread.

Wow, super picture

Thank you, Bent!

Big city, even bigger moon :)

Actually, I was aiming at this moment yesterday but in vain.  The retry seems to be successful!

The landscape in my neighbourhood is dotted with ancient artefacts dating back to the Iron Age or older. There are hundreds of burial mounds, some of them very prominent in the landscape if they have survived the razing vandalism done in the last century. Here is a nice example, around 1500 years old, situated smack in the middle of the school yard of the local primary school. The developers had planned for the mound to be razed -- of course -- but their designs were overthrown. Instead the new school got its name from the mound ('Haugtun' == ' [burial] mound in the [farm, school] yard') and the pupils might see something different and older than their IPads (perhaps).

Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 S-Line Z lens on my PrimaLuce Z5, IR though the Hoya R720 filter. Undoubtedly this lens is an excellent performer also for IR, at least as far as sharpness is concerned.

I like the atmosphere.

Does the red color mean something?

Interestingly, the snowflakes on the far right and the far left looks sharper.  I wonder if it is due to the field curvature.

Thanks Fons and Akira.

Red has no specific meaning, a romantic Christmas perhaps ;)

I guess the perceived sharpness can relate to the colour luminance which may be different at the edges of this fast lens.
