[Theme] 5x/1.2 on Df
« on: December 23, 2019, 23:17:31 »
Inspired by the thread "50/1.2" on Z6, and not a bit jealous, here's a thread about the fifties or so opening up to f/1.2 (50/1.2 AI, 50/1.2 AIS, 55/1.2, 58/1.2 AI or AIS, and maybe some exotic ones). Shots will not be limited to max aperture.

This one depicts the bronze version of Léon Trulin. Sad story.

50/1.2 AI, f/1.2 of course. No vignetting correction in PP.

Well, another mental glitch on my part. Apparently the Z6 and Df are the same thing in my head.

Thank you, Bill. The Canon FD 1.2/50mm cannot be mounted to the Df and reach infinity???

keep calm, it's only a 5x/1.2 thread, where x = 0, 5, or 8 :)

Akira wants to win the lottery and buy a lot of 5x/1.y lenses...

Not without additional optics.  The lens will pop up here in a different thread soon enough.

Me thinks that Canon FD lenses should be snapped up before they get too expensive.

With skinny MILC camera bodies now available with good IQ and with FX/135 sized sensors, these un-loved but good lenses from the dark side need to be liberated from their oppressive EOS jailers and put to good use.  ;D

same is true for the Minolta MD series, phantastic optics, before AF hit the shelves at the end of the 1980ies

Interesting thread
My seasonal picture, taken last night. It shows some of my reservations on this lens, it does not like lights, being candles or light bulbs.

Good idea for the thread. x=8, y=2, whatever the exif says. As usual, I forgot to adapt in the Menu

Too dark to focus but the approximate suits me, although it could probably be better placed in the Unsharp thread. Df 58/1.2 at f1.2
