Instead of the disappointing Z6 (LifePixel) I put the full-spectrum D600 into use today. The lens was the 105/1.4E, which does work for emulated false-colour IR, however has a tendency for developing a diffuse hotspot. That issue didn't crop up here, though.

Birna, I love this piggy-back style composition and the contrasting B&W and false color.

Thanks Akira -- spotting a scene like this makes me slam on the car brakes immediately.

Birna, lucky you live in a country of fewer people.  Your method should cause lots of car clashes here!   ;D

Thanks Fons and Frank, much appreciated.

Sandworms are coming in IR  :o
 Always inspiring, Birna.

I have seen that both lifepixel and Kolarivision still have the Z6 available with different filters. Are you the first to try it? Are they all having the same problem or just that one? Please, I´m interested in the outcome

The understory have leaves that catch the late afternoon light because the older and taller trees are without them thus letting the light through. Is this nature's way of protecting the young?

Tom, you captured beautiful light and atmosphere.  Your assumption should be correct.

My educated guess is that these companies use the customers as alpha testers for the modified Z cameras they sell. No further conclusions can be drawn from a sample size of n=1. However I know of at least one additional Z6 that is in the works to be converted and thus in a short time n=2. If the UV/IR banding issue really is inherent to these cameras, the problem will exhibit itself with that camera unit too.
