Armando, thank you so much for your comments!
Anthony, many thanks to you too, and thanks for the Olympus tip.
Bjørn and Øivind, yes, thank you! I remember very well the thread that Øivind opened about the AW-1 and the Olympus adapter.
However, I would prefer to buy an AW1 fish-eye, than to buy the 10/2.8 + the adapter.
Erik, thanks, I am having the time of my life with the kids.
John, I thought you liked cold weather
Thanks!
Speaking of the AW1 drawbacks, today I suffered a lot with motion blur.
Only later, examining the EXIFs I realised that the shutter speed, with flash on, cannot go beyond 1/60s.
I tried everything, and played with the ever so annoying menus, but I couldn't manage to get the shutter speed to exceed 1/60 when the internal flash was switched on. No wonder my images were blurry. Yes, I know I like them blurry, but today was not the day for blurriness
Not to mention that if you set the AW1 to underwater it makes only JPGs.
Tomorrow I will go fully manual and I will pump the shutter speed to 1/125 at least.
With wavy waters 1/60 simply doesn't do the trick. And the internal flash probably isn't powerful enough to freeze anything anyway.
The only thing it's good for is to drain your battery quicker
We visited a desert island today to the east of Hurghada and its Paradise/Mahmya beach.
The coral reefs in the near vicinity of the island were amazing and full of colorful fish.
