Indeed. Love the heat. Very unusual the hot days so close to the longest day.

Burning grass....

Nice looks like ponytails or vedergras, Stipa tenuissima.

Whoever makes commercial texts like that should have known they had that coming. Literally "ingeslagen". Like a bomb I would say.

(for our non-native Dutch forum members, "inslaan" as can be seen on the banners in that shop can mean "to stockpile" or "to impact")

John, I did not know you had a copy of the 5,8cm f1,4 Nikkor-S. Lovely lens with a unique rendering compared to anything in the Nikkor lineup. Reminds me a bit of the Carl Zeiss Biotar 58mm f2.

To quote the lyrics from a Placebo song:

"A friend in need's a friend indeed
A friend who'll tease is better
Our thoughts compress which makes us blessed
And makes for stormy weather"

I received a package from a friend living in the US a few days ago, but due to a photo assignment did not have the time to make a photograph of the contents yet

250 grams of home roasted coffee beans, roasted just to my personal preference. Slightly on the dark side of a full city roast. Yummy

Yes I agree. I like the lens very much; was lucky to find a late, mint and Ai'd sample.  It's wide open better (central sharpness and bokeh) than the Voigtlander 58/1.4  and strangely enough also much better then the later 50/1.4's

A family member of the Chives, I guess.

A. sphaerocephalon or trommelstok is the name, and beautiful bokeh.

Get well soon Frank. Either that, or get an airconditioner. It's no fun lying in bed with the temperatures we have these days. I only hold on to sanity by staying outdoors until the light is gone (and Anouk needs to be in bed)

John, thank you for your insight in the 5,8cm vs. the Voigtlander. I thought long and hard about buying the Voigtlander, because I'm looking for a more modern fast 50mm' ish lens to use for subjects I would not want to photograph with the 55mm f1,2, or subjects I want to explore beyond my ordinary repertoire of tricks (not many of those around, but as the saying goes: Verandering van spijs doet eten. In english, variety is the spice of life)
