Then this one must have been her evil twin

That's some serious wave action, Elsa. Obviously my visit to Kalk Bay and ensuing impression was on a calm day as I couldn't image the waves would break on the embankment in this violent manner.

Thanks Bjørn. Much worse has been recorded in previous years - I think mine is mild in comparison. But at least I got my own photos yesterday.
It is of course a challenge due to the spray and wind, to get even close enough to have a decent vantage point. I was hiding behind other guys - but everybody and his uncle was out there shooting.

That is the scenario for which TCs are made. You outreach the others.

Fantastic, Elsa.  The first one is smashing.  Could have been the opening shot for a 'disaster'-movie.

Elsa, next time try the fisheye from the top of the light .... j/k

I'm jealous of your images, I really enjoy wave action and this outdoes anything I have been able to catch by a very, very large margin

ok next time try catching a shark swimming in the middle of the wave ... j/k again

Elsa, great shooting.  Love the timing on that first image.  We had high winds , rain , thunder and lightning last night but the actual Storm passed us by.  I was looking forward to some interesting shooting but all calm at 6 am  :( .  Janette is in the UK with her new Olympus Pen - F.  I do not know if she'll post on FB or not.  I'll probably go in search of birds with my new D500 in the next few days. Nothing about recently.  Some Lesser Whistling Ducks, Grebes and a couple of Harriers.
All the best
Tom
ps  Wish we had an interesting Lighthouse  :)

Thanks guys  - I think I will have just go again when we have a storm :)  This was the afternoon before the super moon.

John Geerts... my own mini tsunami  ;D
Armando - of course I will - waiting for you though haha
Tom - we have several lighthouses around the Cape. Some people come tour here exclusively to see all the lighthouses. So I suppose there is a lighthouse fetish too  :o
I havent seen anything new from Janette in the last days. Birds are a no-no in this windy weather, so I am staying put.

Super Elsa, hope your didn't get a bit damp, being near to waves like that is awe inspiring!

You are misquoting the lyrics of the song it should be "And they called the wind Maria"
