MikeG - no - I made a typo - meant to say - If they call the wind Maria (and then answered that with my first post...
thanks for looking Mike. Ya it was wet - and very wet - and windy - and also wet. ducked and dived. not prepared enough this time. Next time I will make a better effort

Great series, but that first one is really powerfull. At first I thought it was a person standing on top of that lightsignal, witch would have been really, really dangerous. (And stupid)
Great weather is always a challenge, and yiu did well.

I think standing next to the lighthouse (tied with a rope or chain, of course) and a 14mm would get a great shot.
I await your posting of that one Elsa
Great captures !

Impressive shots. The breakwater seems to be working, sort of.

Elsa,
I agree with others. The first one is really spectacular. If you haven't mentioned it already, what lens did you use? How far away?
Thanks,
Lowell

wow.. how tall was that lighthouse?.. 26 ft?.. or 8m?.. in the second shot that wave must be close to 40ft. or 12m

Thanks Lowell - this was the 70-200 - at 70mm. And it was too long. I missed half the wave. I am not good judging distance over over - so I dont know how far I was standing on the opposite pier in the harbour - maybe 150m??
Bob - the waves were very high for sure. my guess is roughy 6-8m yes

I don't think the 70mm was too long, quite the opposite - You have captured the action close up just perfectly.
