Thank you Elsa and Armando.

To add to the story. Ward Kimball, actually owns the locomotive he is standing upon.  Kimball was one of original Disney designers. He collects full size trains. In the backyard of his Alhambra, CA home, he has built a train station, complete with water tower, raised loading platform and ticket office. This is one of many train cars he owns. He named his backyard station Grizzly Flats.

Collecting trains... Only in the US of A...

Gary you really master the light and contrast but also your framing is super pleasing! there is a a calm balance... All makes the content of the image speak withut distraction - A true joy to see these olds school iconic PJ captures!

Thank you Erik. Believe me, collecting full size trains is unusual even in the US of A. Hence the story.

Wow, I almost missed the private investigator. Another very cool shot. I like that there's a lot of black in your pictures.

Can you ask the trombone player where he bought that vest?

I love the brass player. Again: So American. This is a genuine non European expression. Thank you for sharing your work.

the train man is more of a fun shot with his huge oil can!

I thought you'd be more of a Straw Hat guy. (This was an ol' time themed jazz group.)

Film is easy. All I shot was Tri-X (it was free and plentiful.)  The lens I can tell from memory (sometimes) and I can get close to focal length by looking at the image ... the camera is sorta by years, my earlier stuff was FTn or F (typically the F had a wide angle). Later stuff was F2/F3.

Really, a non-European expression ... I didn't realize that.

Moi, ready for the next assignment.

Nikon F2 w/ Nikkor 50mm, Tri-X

Okay, I'm messing around with my friend Chris from the San Francisco Examiner. I wasn't going to post this, but as I have a routine going on of posting everything in the order on my website ... I felt compelled not to break with routine. lol
