Hi Klaus,
How can I modify my 50 f1 to focus a bit further away? I assume one has to move the rear elements closer to the front elements...

A skilled mechanic has to take the rear lens part out, shorten and modify the barrel, then set the rear lens part in again, either glued or screwed.
I have a guy here in Germany who does that... (only works if lens is free of dents especially on rear part, only one of my four worked)

thanks Klaus. I use an old shooting technique from my early
rabbit shooting years using what is called a snipers rig. a simple strap attached to my camera and around upper arm held taught. it braces whole body like a tripod. Simple but it works and cheap $5 at most

Got two Pathe Freres Paris projection lenses (65mm + 85mm) through a friend,
guess they are from the 1920s..

Some shots with the 65mm mounted on my GH4, taken at last sunlight...

Yes indeed, this and my 80mm Hermagis do very well still today, both being nearly 100 years old!!
