20160209-007 by longzoom, on Flickr.   At 20mm.   So far I do not need any extra wide lens for my projects.  But, if any, it will be new 15-30 Tamron, out of questions.  For my occasional needs today this 25-years old technology is OK for me. Good lens of every respect, but flaring. Very high suppression to CA, practical absence of ones, no significant coma to speak about, almost no geometrical distortions, but flare... So one can't use this lens into the sun. For cloudy condition, or inside. Thank you!  LZ

Good examples of what that old lens can do when steered by someone with skills.

Thank you, Sten!   Lens is really great, and if Tamron get it updates, with new MC and mechanics, it will be widely appreciated!  LZ

I was looking for something wide and reasonably priced for my Nikon Df.

After much looking around, I found a great deal on this Tamron lens for $99.   Hopefully I will see it here early next week.  :D

these look pretty good for an older lens. Not sure Mongo is see the colour accurately. Sharpness seems also good. Can be a very useful wide angle. Mongo has a similarly old wide angle 24-40mm f2.8 Tokina ATX which he has hardly used because of the availability of other lenses. Looking at your samples today, Mongo may have to go back and take another look at using his. Thanks for posting these.

You seem to be blessed with a truly excellent sample.  And the last two images look nice regardless of the quality of the lens.  You may want to create another account with a new name for this humble optical gem.  :D

First one at 40mm, second at 20mm, and crop, about 200%.   THX!  LZ .   (Any comments on that 25-years old technology?).
Not long but zoom. First capture is good, second and third are great stuff.
The lens seems out of the way, that's as good as it get's in my eyes.

Yes, the lens is not bad, but Tamron should update this affordable glass to address flare! Thank you for your friendly comment! LZ
