Your Garden is a waterway now? That is something different.

In past times my Grandparents house was only reachable per boat once or twice a year.

It seems the high waters of the Rhine river have been less high for the last 20 years...

PS. The second picture is a really good picture. The way the setting sun reflects in the water. Wow.

Bruno, I hope the garden will look less like a pond by now. And I hope the bushes and trees can be saved at least. Flowers will most likely be washed away.

Is the basement dry at least?

No waterway anymore, the stream is almost back to normal but 1 meter wider at some places, due to erosion. The house is safe, it was built 300 years ago by people who knew what they were doing: we're 4 meters above the stream and it would require a cataclysmic event for the water to reach the house :).
This flood was not too bad though. The stream crossing the garden went from 1.5 meters wide to a good 20+ meters in half an hour. Damages are limited, apart from 5cm of mud everywhere, flowers washed away indeed and 2 trees down from the water coming down the neighboring fields. Unfortunately, one of them is the only Sambucus racemosa growing around here.

I am amazed there is never any discussion over colour differences when the mode, or gamut, changes.
Very apparent with dense colours.

I feel it has a psychological component or maybe a color perceptional psychological component...

Today I received the Nikon D5 as a loaner.

First impression:

-- very ugly loud noise, like a mortorcyclist wanting to draw some attention passing a table of young ladies
-- not all buttons are placed as thoughtfully for my purpose as on the D500 with grip
-- wonderful clarity in the files, like D4 / Df / D600 but even better ... there must be a HUGE pixel budget to achieve such clarity!

What is pro-photo?   I never notice any important change of colours in my PP.

The images look fine indeed. What lens did you use?

The first batch is all 4.0/300PF @4.0

Later today I will see a children's theatrical performance in really bad mixed light, can hardly get worse.
This will challenge white balance performance. Knowing the d500 I expect wonders

And later even a garden party with barbecue from 8 pm till midnight. This will give me skin tonality in bad light
and high ISO performace.

so that for the first day.

Prophoto is a colour profle with a larger colour gamut, for a webuse one converts into srgb, since most computers have not set their browsers to display this colour space.
I see a shift in colour once converted.

I suspect that you will realize the benefit of the fluorine coating on 300PF during the BBQ party along with the performance of D5.   :o :o :o
