Great capture Armando - and what a morning!

Speaking of colorful cloudscapes. June 23. We had a long and impressive thunderstorm passing last night and the sky went yellow/orange during the evening - when it cleared a bit the blue mixed in. Great show that I could view from my balcony.

No waterway anymore, the stream is almost back to normal but 1 meter wider at some places, due to erosion. The house is safe, it was built 300 years ago by people who knew what they were doing: we're 4 meters above the stream and it would require a cataclysmic event for the water to reach the house :).
This flood was not too bad though. The stream crossing the garden went from 1.5 meters wide to a good 20+ meters in half an hour. Damages are limited, apart from 5cm of mud everywhere, flowers washed away indeed and 2 trees down from the water coming down the neighboring fields. Unfortunately, one of them is the only Sambucus racemosa growing around here.
That sounds good and bad at the same time. Good to hear you are safe in a solid house.

The entrence gate of the Abbey Trappists Koningshoeven were special beer is brewed by the monks. The only one in the Netherlands. Most of the materials like Barley and water are grown around the monastry.
In the background of the Barleyfield the Abbey is visible.  More info  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koningshoeven_Abbey

The D5 is an amazing tool.

I am now very tired ... too tired to edit and post. I will edit and post tomorrow.

What a camera! ...  which can sure cut shots no other camera can.

Sometimes disturbing and confusing, because she is intruding into territory that could simply not have been photographed before.

Catching up with Friday and a little bit of the backlog

Thomas: Wishing her well
Lars and Armando: great colors
Frank: There is something special indeed but mostly how you frame the subject against the background and other elements
John: "Abbey Trappists Koningshoeven were special beer is brewed " looks like an interesting location for a gathering :-)

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the flood. Uncut grass flattened, cut grass covered in new soil. Smartphone jpg.

I am amazed there is never any discussion over colour differences when the mode, or gamut, changes.
Very apparent with dense colours.
I'm certainly not versed enough in this matter to explain it but from several threads of Iliah Borg on DPreview I remember him explaining that an important issue is the enumeration of colors. There is no unique way of doing it and each enumeration has an arbitrary part in it. Add metameric failures to that and color changes are inevitable not only by moving to a smaller gamut but also to a larger gamut, because of these different enumerations.

Personally I finally got tired of spending more time on the computer and finally resorted to ad hoc color and wb tweaking in the destination space :)
