John. The 55/1.2 gets more and more tempting for me.

What a touching shot. Fairly tale lens.

Another mysterious image but in a totally different way.  Allegedly the full moon seen today is called "Strawberry Moon"...

totally love the jndustrial backdrop, the sky color and the moon color. Superb.

Bruno, thank you. Yes, very welcoming indeed.

John, it's not winter yet, but in October it will be, and that's when things are about to unfold (and you will most likely be pestered with baby photos).
That Zeis Triotar looks interesting. Similar kind of rendering as the NKJ 10,5cm f4 Nikkor-T which is based on the same optical design.
Ever tried the 135mm f3,5 Nikkor-Q? Can be found for $50 or less, but renders in a similar fashion and is incredibly sharp, even wide open.
Nice (double) exposure with the 55mm f1,2 :)

Fons, that is a very convincing alligator leather camera bag :D

Frank, I can really recommend buying a 55mm f1,2 nikkor of any vintage. It is indeed a fairytale lens, and I could show scores of fairytale photos I made with the lens ever since I owned a copy.It is my 2nd most used lens, after the 105mm f2,5

Yes, I have the 135/3.5 QC, a very good lens, but the Triotar beats it on all accounts especially on sharpness and colour wide open. Also on Beauty  ;)

Nice, is it already winter, Buddy?  ;)

Great portraits, Frank. The 85/1.8G does it well.

Tender blues, Bruno

Beauty of a moon, Thomas.

An alligator as gift, Fons?  ;)

Testing the Zeiss Triotar 135/4  on the 800E      -    Not bad for a lens from 1951  Sweet bokeh wide open, a bit harsh at f/8

Definitely a thing of beauty John  -   your copy has defied the years really well  -  hardly a scratch on it.

Have you modified its mount  for Nikon and does it still infinity focus?

Thanks Hugh.  It really is like new, even the glass. It is the T-coated version, one of the last they made.

With the standard thin M42/Nikon F adapter it goes to infinity and behaves like an AI lens on the Nikon Camera's, when leaving the aperture wide open at f/4.  Changing aperture (at the front like the 28/4 PC lens) implies changing the settings, I usually use the compensating exposure for that, or adapt the camera settings  of the lens to the aperture in use.

No matter what anyone might say because he/she wants to be polite:

I will never be a good photopgrapher because I do not have the talent
BUT: I will always work hard to become a better photographer than I am now
This is a very satisfactory path.

This morning I took some effort to become a better photographer.
Here are two cityscapes.
