What a great time we had in Scotland.

700 hundred meters "upstairs" that was quite exhausting.

Need more training. Bicycle ride with trailer and two kids is good but not as training
for mountains.

My one regret about Scotland 2016 is that we didn't have time to explore Glencoe in addition to Glen Etive (which we visited twice). Glencoe is known for its history and its mountains, but there is much more than that. Mayumi and I were there yesterday on a wet stormy day.

1. The entrance to the glen.
2. Looking east from the Glencoe road.
3. The "Glencoe Lochan".
4. Waterlilies near the Lochan.
5. Falls on the River Coe.
6. The river near Glencoe village.

After those 700 m uphill I was surprised that any breath at all was left inside you.
But the pictures prove the opposite. Maybe some "D500 doping" infusing you with additional energy?  ;)

Glencoe. We went through this place on our way to the west coast twice. But you were there in much better light.
We were engaded applying sun protection to our skin. Light was not good at all....

Fantastic images Dave, I am taking notes for my next visit.
I have tried to do as much as possible during the short days while I was there, but there was not time for everything and I am hoping to be back in the autumn, possibly October. I have a number of things in my list, including yellow larches.
That will require cooperative weather and the wife consenting to me going away a weekend.
If you are interested to join me please let me know and we'll see nearer the time if that can be done, I would be very happy - indeed, honoured.

Thank you, Akira, Guenther, Frank and Simone for the comments on my Glencoe photos - I am very, very slowly learning to take decent photos even when the weather is bad.

Simone - it would be a great pleasure to show you something of Glencoe - or wherever - this autumn, but bear in mind that I can no longer do any kind of hillwalking or strenuous hiking; even on the flat I am limited to about 2 miles, max. Changed days.

I am aware of it and it is not a problem at all. For that visit I was thinking about shooting always near to the car - what I call "drive & shoot".
