Hope you are all having a great time, although for a non cognoscenti a few names would be nice, so one can marry up the names to faces!

|Just got back home from the trip - sad I had to go early.
Never managed to get internet going while there so there is a slight log of images to come.
Starting from the first full day together - Sunday.
This is from the hike, after Gunther, Francis and Frank dropped out.
3 stalwarts continue, this is Simone the Younger getting almost blown off Ben Lawers ("Blowing in the wind")

Bez conquering his fear in the treacherous descent of An Stuc ("not for the faint hearted" said the passing girl as Bez laughed in her face)

Harry Potter's train on the way to Hogwarts
(The Jacobite on the Glenfinnan viaduct)

Sadly the steam is not showing well - the temperature was 27 Celsius, well above he dew point.

I hope Dave has gotten better by now. Really unfortunate timing Bjørn, I hope you get well soon, safe trip home!

Yes, I'm fine thanks, Jørgen, but this get-together has been slightly dented by 4 of us (so far) being unwell - me, Bjørn, Francis and Mike.

But I think we are all still having a good time.

My take on the Mercury transit.
Fuji X-T1, Mamyia 500/5.6 and 2X TC, Baader Astro Solar
I wonder what the image could looked like if the lens actually focused to infinity and if I did not have to stop down to f/32...

PS: If you have the same dust bunnies it means that they could be sunspots  ;)

Indeed.
I don't know what you have done to develop it, but I remember it better on the camera screen, this one seems darker and noisier.

Today Erik et moi dropped Bjørn at the airport a little past 10am and we used the time in between flights to have brunch and spend some quality time at The Kelpies before I had to climb on board of a blue metal bird myself.

Here's two of my favourites from earlier today, uploaded from home :)

The mandatory sunstar eye, shot at f/16 for a nice crisp star

Sony 35/1.4 FE on a7RII

One of the horses turned out to be a bit skittish about birds ;D

Canon 100-400 IS MkII on a7rII
Cheers,
Jan Anne
