Thanks John. I like the 70-180 at lot. As a true macro zoom, it changes the way you do macro. It also has a rendition of its own.

The Nikkor 35/2.8 K  is actually a surprise, hadn't heard of it before.  The bokeh is pleasant.

I wonder if this 35/2.8 is similar to the one i have shown in replies #1004, and #1005.

I think you have an older one, Fons.  The 35/2.8 I have here is serial 791xxx  which means the revised version of June 1974 with 7 blades (instead of 6) and different optics. 

"The lens was designed with a 6-element 6-group configuration, and therefore contained fewer elements than the existing Nikkor-S Auto but succeeded in enhancing performance." http://www.nikkor.com/story/0038/

Yes - I would be surprised if winter should return but March can surprise. It hasn't really been winter at all. Boring.. I love snow and frost during winter.
