In honor of St. Pat's Day Mary Lou thought Margaritas would be appropriate ... So here are Gary's Famous Snowball Margaritas.

Magnolia stellata, an early flowering magnolia, spring frost will often spoil its beauty.

March 18.  Japanese magnolia (Magnolia quinquepeta?) in my neighborhood.  Will be in full bloom in a couple of days...

Thanks for the addition Fons.  It was especially chosen for the designed garden of Interpolis. But you are right, some years it's a short flowering time.  It actually survived the current frost a bit, I think.

Yes - I would be surprised if winter should return but March can surprise. It hasn't really been winter at all. Boring.. I love snow and frost during winter.

March 17 2016. This parkway with tall trees is just outside my front door.

I have witnessed a similar scene near lake Constance a  while ago. Where is that?

I just looked at the posted image and I apologize for the lack of quality.  The sun was fading and I wanted to get a shot up ... it looked okay in the iPhone.  On the left in a pot flowering is a rose, China Girl and on the right are some succulents flowering ... dunno the name.  We have a lot of succulents and they all flower.  I appreciate the great lengths succulents go to when they flower.  I'll break out the macro and do them right.

I have a great love for plants, so my assessment was quite wrong calling the flowers Allium. Embarassed to find many young people know zilch about nature etc.

"Happy machine operators" would be a great name for a band.

I am quite unhappy to not be able to name plants properly, except for some very common ones like these
tulips I shot last night at a friend's house:
