the first shows the Blütenstand of a Hibiskuspflanze
the second is from a series of dead Hortensie.

I am not aware of the biological names in Latin or English.

Feb 7th: Indian classical music concert. Artists are being felicitated at the end of the concert with traditional turban of this state (Mysore) and shawl.
That’s Pandit Shivkumar Sharma on right, an eminent Santoor player.

Øivind, very atmospheric. A lot of details. Impressive amount of spectators - this must be the event around.
I knew it exists but long distance sled racing is not a concept for my home country.
Would love to see more images.

Thanks Thomas and John for your comments. Yes, sled dog racing is sport no. 1 in Alaska with respect to publicity. The Iditarod race is the longest one, but the Yukon Quest has an even higher star here in Fairbanks, as it runs in the interior and is a tougher race with respect to environmental conditions and less support along the trail.
