Thomas, just to be a bit picky but those look very much like Wood Pigeons to me! I have a pair living in a tree at the the bottom of my garden!

My apologies if Ring Dove is a local name

I found that ringdove is described as wood pigeon or common wood pigeon,
columba palumbus. Thanks for pointing it out, I never thought of them other then ringdove,
which seems to be the regional term for them.

That's a large impressive tree, Lars.

It looks warmer, but the desolation and emptiness of the Heuvel (the main square) on a shopping Sunday is proof for the bitingly cold Northern wind.
And the lonely 'chips' consumer
