Ta, Javov !

Also the 55 / 1.2 Ai    (Which I like more than the 50 1.2  Ai )

I think we love it for the same reasons, its optical issues and aberrations...Don't we ? ;)

I think so Francis  ;)

I have now both Ai-versions:  so the last 55mm and one of the first 50mm. They  basically share the same 'issue's' regarding being a fast lens.

In comparison:   The bokeh-rendering of the 55 is a bit softer than the 50 in close up. At a distant the 55 is a bit blurrier than the 50 wide open. That gives more issues (and opportunities) indeed  ;)   The focal length of the 55mm is a plus in my view.

Beautiful image, John.
I hereby declare that I will refrain from buying any more lenses in the near future  ::)

Thanks Jakov.

Well, perhaps an option is to sell one, and buy something else back  ;)

Wil also bring a Canon FD 85/1.2 SSC Aspherical but that isn't gonna do you any good ;D
Cheers,
Jan Anne

Jan Anne, what if I bring along my Canon AE-1 Program 35mm SLR :)
Would it work then? Although, I would not know where to buy film  ;D

Don't say that. We travel with the famous Dr. Lens. I can take a few spare bayonet mounts with me. Give Erik a few minutes to work his magic and the Canon will fit Jakov's camera. Well, not to infinity focus probably, but I foresee no problems otherwise ... :D

On the flip side, Jan Anne can use the Enigma 125 mm f/1.2 on his Sony ...

This snapshot is mostly a proof of concept.

I've found three fast lenses made by Kowa on the commissioned sale in Tokyo.  They appear to be X-Ray lenses: 55mm/f1.1 (24,000 JPY), 65mm/f0.75 (80,000 JPY) and 95 or 90mm/f0.95 (80,000 JPY).  They all look like Rodenstock Heligons.  None of them are listed in Klaus' Macro Lens Database.

I have many unlisted lenses as I stopped around 300. Now I'm at 600++ but don't have teh time to update...
I know those and have a few of them, they are often nearly identical lenses built by many manufacturers (Rodenstock, Varo, De Oude Delft, Canon and Leitz at least) based on demands of system integrators for such X-Ray machines (such as PICKER Corp.)

Canon 0.75/65mm vs 0.75/Leitz 65mm both made for Picker Corp.:

Canon 0.75/65mm: http://macrolenses.de/ml_detail_sl.php?ObjektiveNr=109

and here the Leitz 1/90mm http://macrolenses.de/ml_detail_sl.php?ObjektiveNr=160

Btw. I find the prices quoted extremely high for such lenses ;-)

And here some assembly incl. KOWA ones:
formerly known as kds315

I know.  That's why I didn't dare to buy any of them.  :)

I would really like to see some images from these gems :)
